Greetings Oui Dats! I hope all of you had a wonderful (and healthy) Holiday Season!
Twelfth Night has come and gone and we are now officially in Carnival Season and although this year won't be like those we've enjoyed in the past, our Oui Spirit won't be dampened. To that end, beginning next week we will launch our new "Let Them Eat Cake" video series! Each Tuesday, we will post videos of our members enjoying their favorite (or fave of the week) King Cake. It's a simple and delicious way to celebrate the Carnival Season together, even though we may be apart.
Here's the plan: Each week, procure a King Cake of your choice (ALL flavors and types, sweet and savory, are fair game). Video yourself partaking of that scrumptious treat. Be sure to identify yourself, where the King Cake is from (we want to support our local businesses!!) and tell us why you like that particular version of the yummy treat. Wear some (or all) of your Oui Dat costume and make the video as festive as you like. Dance, eat cake, drink, whatever you like, just show us your classy Oui Dat spirit!
Weekly videos should be submitted no later than Fridays at 10:00 p.m. (CST) beginning this week. Videos will be posted to our public Facebook page every Tuesday from 1/19/2021 through 2/9/2021. On Mardi Gras Day, the member whose video receives the most "likes/loves" will be crowned King Cake Queen and will receive a special Oui Dat prize package with lots of fun surprises!!
We hope that all of you will participate in this tasty way to celebrate the Carnival Season!! Videos
should be no longer than 1 minute and should be submitted by e-mail to the Oui Dat address (ouidatsnola@gmail.com). Oui look forward to seeing your beautiful faces and all of the fabulous King Cakes you can find!!
If any of you have any other ideas about how we can safely enjoy the Carnival Season "together," Oui are all ears!! You can e-mail suggestions/ideas to us at ouidatsnola@gmail.com or contact a Board Member directly.
Until we meet again, stay safe Oui Sisters and enjoy the King Cake!!

Oui Sisters,
We hope that all of you have enjoyed a bountiful Thanksgiving filled with good food and love!
By now we're sure you've heard that Mardi Gras 2021 will not be celebrated with parades in New Orleans. While the news does not come as a complete surprise, it is deeply disappointing. Due to the cancelation, we will take a hiatus from our Zoom practices through the New Year.
Although we're apart, we cherish our sisterhood and ask that you please never hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Until we are able to safely meet face to face on a regular basis for dance practice, we would like to encourage those of you who are able to volunteer with us at Second Harvest Food Bank on Wednesday, December 9 at 9 a.m. (see Facebook Members Only page for details) and to participate in future events in support of our community.
At this time of Thanksgiving, as we are counting our blessings, each and every one of our Oui Sisters are in our thoughts and hearts.
We are very much looking forward to seeing each other and getting to know our newest members in the not-so-distant future. In the meantime, Oui wish you a very happy and healthy holiday season.
With love,
The Oui Dats Board
